The Life Jesus Came to Give
Scripture
John 10:10 KJV
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
Daily Big Idea
The dream isn't a fantasy or a someday. It's God's own life, and Jesus came to put it in you.
Revelation
When Jesus said "I am come that they might have life," He used the Greek word zoe: life as God has it, the uncreated, self-existent life of God. He didn't come to add years to your life. He came to put His life in your years. You describe an environment by what can't live there. Fish can't live in the desert. Sickness can't live where God lives. Lack can't live where God lives. Fear can't live where God lives. That's the dream life: God's life, lived God's way, by faith in God's Word. But access doesn't mean automatic. Grace provided it. Faith lays hold of it. And faith starts with being awake to what's already yours.
Key Statement
Jesus did not come to give you more years. He came to give you His life.
ACE Application
ALIGN: Agree with John 10:10. Abundant life is God's plan for you, not an exception to it.
CONSECRATE: Set apart one area of your life this week where you're going to lay hold of His life by faith.
EXCEL: Measure that area by what can't live where God lives, and name what doesn't belong there.
Faith Action
Start your Reality Check card. At the top, write: "Where God lives, there is no ______." Fill in the blank for the one area that doesn't match God's dream for you right now: sickness, lack, fear, disunity. Keep the card where you'll see it every morning. You'll add to it every day this week.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You that Jesus came that I might have life, Your life, more abundantly. I don't settle for more years without Your life in them. I receive the zoe life by faith. Show me every area where I've accepted what can't live where You live, and give me the faith to lay hold of what You've already provided. In Jesus' name, Amen.
