Session 2 - Prayer Hits Different When You Know Your Authority

Hey family, Pastor Brit here! Have you ever felt powerless—like life is just happening to you and you have no control? That’s exactly how the enemy wants us to feel. But let me remind you of something powerful: from the very beginning, God gave us authority. Genesis 1:26 tells us that we were created in His image and given dominion over the earth. We were never meant to live defeated, but to rule and represent God here on earth. The problem? Adam forfeited that authority when he gave in to the enemy’s deception. That decision allowed Satan to become "the god of this world," stealing the dominion that was meant for us. But here’s the good news—Jesus came to take it back!

Through His victory on the cross, Jesus restored our authority and gave us the power to stand against anything the enemy tries to throw our way. That means when we pray, when we declare God’s Word, and when we walk in faith, we are operating in the authority Jesus reclaimed for us. We don’t have to live in fear, doubt, or defeat—we have the power to shift atmospheres, break chains, and walk boldly in our calling. So, this week, I challenge you to step into your authority. Speak God’s promises over your life, refuse to let the enemy dictate your circumstances, and remember—because of Jesus, we are more than conquerors!
