See the End
Scripture
Genesis 15:5 KJV
“And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.”
Daily Big Idea
Before God asked Abram to believe, He gave him something to look at.
Revelation
God always gives first. Before Abram had a single child, God brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven.”
The stars became the picture of the promise.
In the 1960s, archaeologists found date palm seeds at Masada in Israel, buried about 2,000 years. Everybody saw a souvenir, something that used to be alive.
In 2005, Dr. Elaine Solowey saw a tree. She planted one, it sprouted, and today it's a tree.
Two people can look at the same seed. One sees what's lost, and the other sees the end.
What God showed you isn't a museum piece. It still has life in it.
Seeing the end means looking at the promise the way God sees it, before the harvest ever shows.
Key Statement
God gives you the picture before He puts the promise in your hands.
ACE Application
ALIGN: Look at your situation through God's promise, not through what you think you lost.
CONSECRATE: Take time alone with God today and ask Him to show you the end He has in mind.
EXCEL: Make the picture concrete. Describe what it looks like when the promise is fulfilled.
Faith Action
Go back to your card from Day 1.
Under the promise, write three specific details of what it looks like when God's promise comes to pass: what you'll see, what you'll be doing, and who will be blessed by it.
That's your “stars.”
Read it out loud once today.
Prayer
Father, in Jesus' name, thank You that You always give first.
Just like You showed Abram the stars, show me the end You have in mind for my life.
Where I've been looking at a dead seed, help me see a tree.
Where I've been seeing what's lost, help me see what You said.
I receive the picture of Your promise, and I keep it in front of me.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Faith Confession
God gives first, and He has shown me the end.
I don't look at what I lost. I look at what God said.
What God planted in my life still has life in it.
I see the end the way God sees it.
I see it before I hold it.
So shall my seed be.
In Jesus' name.
