Come to Yourself
Scripture
Luke 15:17 KJV
"And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!"
Daily Big Idea
The prodigal's turning point wasn't when the money ran out. It was when he woke up to what was already his.
Revelation
The prodigal son was in a pig pen, living a nightmare. But the turning point wasn't the empty wallet. It was four words: "he came to himself." He woke up. He realized his father's servants had bread enough and to spare, and he was living beneath what was his. Nothing about the pig pen changed in that moment, but he did. Here's the danger: you can fall asleep in the dream and not even know it. Disappointments can put a lid on your expectation. You keep reacting, keep surviving, and start calling it the will of God when it's really just what happened to you. But when you come to yourself, you stop being a spectator. You recognize what's yours, and you start acting like it. And the moment you wake up, God's light is on you, and God's hand is upon you.
Key Statement
When you wake up, you stop being a spectator in your own life.

Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to myself today. Forgive me for calling it Your will when it was only what happened to me. I lift the lid off my expectation. In Your house there is bread enough and to spare, and I refuse to live beneath what You've provided. Thank You that Your light is on me and Your hand is upon me. I'm coming home, and I'm walking in what's mine. In Jesus' name, Amen.
