Made Before You Were Sent
### Daily Big Idea
Identity holds the weight that assignment can't hold on its own.
### Scripture
Genesis 1:26-28 KJV
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."
### Revelation
Look at the order. God didn't hand out dominion first and figure out identity later. He made man in His image, and then He assigned dominion. Identity came before assignment, every time.
That order matters for you today. If you try to carry an assignment -- a title, a role, a responsibility -- before your identity in Christ is settled, the assignment will crush you, because assignment was never designed to hold you up. Identity was. Get your identity settled in Him first, and dominion becomes something you carry, not something that carries you under.
### Key Statement
Identity holds the weight that assignment can't hold on its own.
### ACE Application
Acknowledge: I have been trying to let a role or title do the work only my identity in Christ can do.
Confess: I am made in God's image before I am anything else I do for Him.
Execute: Today, remind myself out loud, before checking one task off my list, of who I am in Christ.
### Faith Action
Write down one assignment, title, or responsibility you've been leaning on for your sense of worth. Beside it, write one true statement about who you are in Christ, and let that be what actually holds you today.
### Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, settle my identity in You before I try to carry another assignment. I don't want dominion to be the thing propping me up -- I want it to be the overflow of who You've already made me. Thank You for making me in Your image before You ever gave me anything to do. In Jesus' name, amen.
### Faith Confession
I am made in God's image before I am any title I carry. My identity holds the weight my assignment cannot hold on its own. I was made before I was sent.
